Tattoo furniture is modern, bold and beautiful, every piece a one-off creation handmade with a technique that is unique in furniture design.

The company draws on the age-old art of tattooing to create personalised pieces for the home or corporate environment. Clients can choose the design, fabric, colour and wood of their furniture, together with the pattern which will be laser-cut into it.

Tracey Collis and Claire Letoret were originally inspired to create a writer's desk while working on a film script, but when the who's who in the film industry started commissioning similar pieces from them, they knew they were on to a good thing.

This was the birth of Tattoo furniture, which immediately began making its mark in South Africa.

Because each item is etched, engraved or laser-cut with a pattern chosen by the client, it has the permanency and art-form of a tattoo. This results in a highly personalized piece of furniture and the ultimate fashion statement for any interior. For this reason, the furniture is also ideal for the corporate world. Instead of laser-cutting patterns onto the wood; logos or slogans can be inlaid into the furniture, making it the perfect talking-piece for the reception or boardroom.
