Laura Hewgill grew up on Tea Estate in the Eastern Highlands of Zimbabwe. Her love for nature and a desire to capture it in her own artistic hand was nurtured there. She took her inspiration with her through a textile design degree in the UK. Her passion was confirmed along with her love of Africa. So she returned as a textile designer working in the local South African industry and designing for international companies in Hong Kong and the UK.
It was always Laura’s dream to have her own business, designing distinctive textiles inspired by the African bush veldt. Her sophisticated but natural products bring to life African themes where colour, pattern and simplicity reign.
table linen: napkins and tablecloths.
At the dining table the quickest way to introduce a sense of occasion, is to dress it with linen or cotton. Being absorbent and washing well, these fabrics make ideal table linen. But be warned.. Once you are addicted to cotton and linen napkins and tablecloths, nothing else will do.
kitchenware: tea towels and aprons.
We think of long sunny days, uninhibited. We can almost taste the finest, freshest, simplest cooking ingredients transformed into a delicacy for our delight. Of course the chef deserves to cook in style with our 100% cotton tea towels and aprons!
interior: cushions, carpets, lamps, lampshades and furniture.
Beautiful textiles are what brings the comfort and ease, softness and warmth, flexibility and fluidity to our homes. Veldt interior products help bring a room alive through their design and feel, and the atmosphere they create. A touch of luxury, however great or small never goes amiss.
